Why we do it

οὐ γὰρ δοκεῖν ἄριστος ἀλλ’ εἶναι θέλει

He does not wish to seem, but to be excellent.

Over Sixty Years of Continuous Operation

The Beta-Pi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity is an organization of students and alumni of the Georgia Institute of Technology who have organized to:

  • support and complement the academic mission of the Institute,
  • develop our members’ personal and social skills in accord with the principles of the Fraternity,
  • foster a network of lifelong friends and colleagues, and
  • be an important positive influence on our campus and our community.

We accomplish this purpose by:

  • helping our members remain on academic good standing with the Institute,
  • living and dining together in our chapter house until we graduate,
  • participating in the maintenance of our chapter house and in the preparation of our meals,
  • providing personal and social development experiences for our members,
  • competing to win sports and campus events,
  • engaging in co-curricular activities that support the mission of the Institute such as work-study and study abroad,
  • promoting interaction among undergraduate and alumni members,
  • being involved in other campus organizations and
  • engaging in high-impact community service and philanthropy.

We expect each member to support this mission.  We enforce individual conduct standards to that end.

Our vision is to be the finest student organization at the Institute.
