Size does matter. Keeping with the ideals of our National Founders, Beta Pi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon is a social organization in the fullest sense of the word. We are a large chapter and we have the resources to tackle big projects and to stage big events.
By itself, our House promotes the kind of simple, ordinary, daily interaction among our members that, over the years, promotes the growth of life-long friendships in a way no small house, "residence hall", or off-campus apartment could ever do. Having a large number of members provides for the resources for numerous trips held throughout the year. From beach weekends to away football games and camping trips, we step away from the strenuous Tech atmosphere. Our Social Quarters provide excellent space for a variety of activities including band parties (for which our facilities are arguably the best on campus), billiards, foosball, darts, sand volleyball (best court of any house on campus), meals, games on the big screen, meetings, study sessions, and a variety of other activities. Chapter meetings have been held on Wednesday evenings for over thirty years. Our cook prepares lunches and dinners for which we come together in our house Mondays through Fridays. On Fridays, for dinner, we usually all go to places such as El Amigo or Rocky Mountain. We participate competitively in intramurals, Greek Week, Homecoming and
many other activities on campus. We sponsor intramural teams (sometimes
more than one) in almost every sport offered and have ranked highly in
the finals of most. We participate in Homecoming with a massive display
covering the volleyball court and have finished well for many years while
having fun at the same time. In the spring, we participate in Greek Week
with a heavy emphasis on tug-o-war and winning, but of course having a
good time. Making extensive use of e-mail, we make sure that everyone is aware of what's going on no matter what his school or work schedule. |
